Publicity

The BCA work to promote the joys of underground exploration, because we believe that getting the word out about our amazing sport is key to allow it thrive.

New to Caving

The BCA’s New to Caving website is aimed at those wanting to start out with caving for the very first time. The site points keen cavers towards clubs and organisations that can help make sure that their first underground trips are a success, and highlights the key conservation messages that are so important for our sport.

Publicity

We circulate relevant information nationally aimed at cavers and non-cavers alike, and we fund our Regional Caving Councils in doing the same. We also offer cavers, and other organisations within the caving community, services that may help them publicise themselves and the work that they’re doing.

This aspect of BCA business is managed by our Publications and Information Officer.

Artificial Cave

The BCA were kindly donated 10 sections of artificial cave by Entre-Prise (www.entre-prises.co.uk). This is essentially a pipe-structure designed to simulate a cave crawl. This can be assembled into several variations of routes (of different difficulties, including squeezes and up/down sections) and is an excellent, fun addition to any event where caving is to be promoted. It is housed in its own convenient trailer and is available for use by BCA members and organisations at no cost. Note however that a trailer licence and appropriate vehicle is needed to collect the cave (and of course, return it afterwards).
