GSS (Gloucester Speleological Society) is an active club with an interest in underground exploration and some surface things and socials too. The Forest of Dean, Wales, the Mendips and Bath area are all nearby with mines and underground quarries. There are weekday evening trips every week and weekend trips most weekends.
