The BCA, through the hard work of our Training Committee, is pleased to offer our members a wide variety of training courses and workshops run throughout the year.

These cover various aspects of caving, including SRT, rigging, safety, rescue, navigation, first aid, cave science, geology, conservation, photography, and mine exploration amongst others. We have sessions aimed at beginners right up to more experienced cavers.

This is a great chance for those new to caving to hone their skills, or those more experienced to develop their skills or learn about an area of caving they might not have experienced.

Some sessions are classroom based; others at a dedicated training facility, and others out ‘in the field’. Derbyshire is a recurring location owing to being quite central but sessions are often held around the various caving regions.

These courses and workshops are aimed primarily at recreational cavers, and they are open to all BCA members to get involved. There is a charge for most sessions to cover venue and instructor costs, but these costs are kept to a minimum.

Keep checking back as more courses and workshops are posted here regularly.
