IIRC gull caves or gull fissures are lizzens, or lissens and equate geologically with unfilled neptunian dykes, created by localised mass movement/fracturing. Although as I have no academic geological background other than A-level geomorphology it would be very handy to have a geologist's input on t...

Dare I mention another forum where you may get a prompt(er) response?

Try putting a thread on the same topic at
http://www.ukcaving.com/board/index.php
- it gets a lot of traffic and someone should be able to help with your enquiry, Dave.

Good luck

WWF were aware that simply putting padlocks on Box would almost certainly have resulted in them being bypassed; the system of securing the gates at Box needed to be part of the design of the gates and was manufactured into them before installation - as I understand things this was not the case at BF...

Personally I imagine the task of overseeing the distribution of BCA membership cards is fraught with logistical problems. For instance: To process one card: Applicant's name and address are entered on a list. Presumably needing to check that their address hasn't changed and also to find out if they ...

RodG, you don't need your BCA card in order to be insured and a member of BCA. Check FAQ104. You've paid your money = you're covered. Oh, and BTW, your analogy re car insurance is wrong. A phone call is all that is needed for cover to be in place - you don't need to wait for the documentation to arr...

until I have ... a membership card, I do not consider myself a member of the BCA, nor that I am covered by the BCA insurance. A view that I am quite sure wiould be confirmed by any legal opinion. Nonsense. According to such a viewpoint, if I lose my credit card I am no longer a customer of my bank.

Graham, you're point above is correct and I doff my hat in your general direction. However, with the latest post perhaps it is worth reiterating a point mentioned at the last regional council meeting reminding everyone that BCA does not sell insurance and there is no insurance fee. Insurance cover i...

And it'll probably still be going on when you're Richard's Grandad but this doesn't mean useful things aren't being achieved regularly.
