All leaders have now been sent keys and trips have begun. Please be minded that there is a scaffold pole in the entrance shaft which is stored, leaning against the side - it is not fixed and has already provided mild entertainment for a caver expecting to use it as a solid hand hold. The base of the...

Cuckoo Cleeves

The new owner of this site, Wayne Starsmore, has secured access on behalf of cavers - thanks to him for his selfless generosity. West Twin Brook Adit, Burrington Combe

With thanks to Bristol Water and UBSS, this site has now had a combination lock fitted. Although not sufficiently difficult to justify a trip for "proper" cavers, it is possible to see the sequencing of the geology from lower limestone shale through green mud bands to old red sandstone and so has an...

With thanks to Nick Harding & Nick Richards of BEC, the leader system for this "new" cave on Mendip has now been established. Clubs with leaders include ACG, Cheddar CC, CSS, MCG, SMCC, SBSS, UBSS, WCC.

Apart from everything else CSCC tries hard to assist with conservation and access, Dave!

Not wanting to unnecessarily take credit for something I didn't do (not like me, eh!) it's worth pointing out that someone else actually sorted out the broken padlock at FCQ and I suspect it was JA who does a lot over in that neck of the woods; thanks J!
