Access to Rowter Hole and JH

Postby Jenny Potts » Thu 01 Mar 2007 19:14

The farmer at Rowter Farm, Mr. Hall, has just informed us that the fees for access for JH and Rowter Hole have been increased to £2.00. Other access arrangements remain the same. (Note that cavers are asked to stay away during lambing time: April/May.)

The lid on Rowter is in poor condition and currently only has one hinge intact, so please take care. It is DCA's intention to reconstruct the top of the shaft and replace the lid some time this year.

The shaft top at Rowter Pot has now been completely reconstructed and a new lid installed. The job has been done by a group of volunteers working for DCA on behalf of local cavers and was completed, after several month's work, at the beginning of March 2008.

Thanks are due to all those who put in an immense amount of work during this last winter.
